Safari Lodge

The Safari Lodge was originally built in the 1920's and offers accommodation for 16 guests in a lodge that captures the history and romance of the bygone era. Here guests can enjoy sweeping views in a tranquil setting, providing the ultimate African experience.

KwaZulu-Natal accommodation is in 8 luxurious safari style tents, each boasting an en suite bathroom, outdoor canvas shower, a private verandah and personal bar. As you relax in the peaceful ambience of your luxury tent, you are encapsulated by the unspoilt savanna bushveld teeming with wildlife that surrounds you. Chalet 1

Chalet 1 is the honeymoon unit and consists of an en suite shower with private ball and claw bath.

Chalet 2, 3 and 4

These chalets offer twin beds and an en suite shower.

Chalet 5 and 6

These chalets feature twin beds, an en-suite shower and bath, an extra bed for a child, or a camping cot that can be placed in these rooms.

Chalet 7

Chalet 7 is the spacious family unit and consists of an en suite shower, twin beds in the main room, 2 single beds in the children's adjoining room and a camping cot on request.

Research Camp

The Research Camp is an affordable self-catering accommodation in the Pongola Game Reserve, catering mainly for small groups of backpackers, volunteers, researchers, students and fishermen. The camp has 6 twin rooms and shared ablution facilities accommodating 8 to 12 guests. The camp has a practical kitchen with basic cutlery, crockery, fridge and freezer with an outside braai (barbecue) area next to the kitchen.

Fly Camp

Fly Camp is located under the shade of big trees right on the banks of a dam. This is a 'back to basics' camp for adventurous travelers. The camp is equipped with a hot water 'donkey' shower, an ‘enviro-lue’ flush toilet, 3 canvas fly-sheet shelters and bow-tents, 6 stretchers with mattresses and no electricity. Campers bring their own camping gear, 12 V lighting, bedding, cutlery, food and beverages.
