Mkuze Falls Private Game Reserve is situated within 2 and a half hours of the Historical Battlefields, the Lake St. Lucia wetlands, and Rocktail Bay for birding, snorkelling and scuba diving. Mkuze Falls Reserve is the perfect stopover for visitors travelling between the Kruger National Park and Durban.
Mkuze is situated near to a malaria area, although a low risk area. Insect repellent and/or antimalarial prophylaxis are recommended. Temperatures vary from 10 degrees to 25 degrees Celsius in wintertime and 25 degrees to 40 degrees Celsius in summer.

Mkuze Falls is positioned on the Kruger Park-Swaziland-Durban (N2 / R66) and Johannesburg-Richards Bay-Durban (N2 / R66) routes. After leaving the R66 between Pongola and Nongoma (the Lodge is signposted from both directions), you travel a further 2 kilometres along dirt road when the sugarcane fields fade away and you arrive at the main entrance of the Reserve. From there, it takes about 10 minutes to reach your KwaZulu-Natal safari lodge.
