This friendly lodge is just a scenic 2 and a half hour drive from Durban, situated between two Big Five game reserves and the Greater St Lucia Wetlands in Hluhluwe, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

Emdoneni is a Birder Friendly Establishment, and has a variety of wildlife species including Zebra, Nyala, Impala and both Red and Grey Duiker resident in the game park. The biggest attraction is of course the Cat Rehabilitation Centre.

The Emdoneni Cat Rehabilitation Centre in Hluhluwe, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa is dedicated to the care of orphaned and injured animals and where possible breeding and release of the offspring into their natural habitat. The endangered wild cat species here are the Cheetah, African Wildcat, Caracal or Lynx and Serval.

Directions to Emdoneni Lodge and Game Farm

From Johannesburg (about 6 hours by car)

Take the N2 South, from Johannesburg towards Ermelo, Piet Retief and Pongola. Follow the N2 South about 120km (75 miles) from Pongola passing Mkuze and Hluhluwe Village. 10km (6 miles) past the Hluhluwe turn-off, take the Bushlands turn-off on the left (sign-posted Emdoneni / Bushlands). Turn left off the N2 and follow the Emdoneni signs. The gate is about 500m from the N2 fly-over.

From Durban (about 2 hours by car)

Take the N2 North, from Durban. By-pass Richards Bay and Mtubatuba. About 38km (24 miles) from Mtuba is the Bushlands turn-off on the left (sign-posted Emdoneni / Bushlands). Turn left off the N2 and follow the Emdoneni signs. The gate is about 500m from the N2 fly-over.
